Celebrating 10 years…

May 22, 2019

… the story so far!

2009 – 2019

This summer Edward Johnson and his team are celebrating our 10th anniversary. There have been many developments and events to reflect upon, starting with Ed’s first workshop, a shared space at Scott Workshops in Portslade, to his move in 2014 to our current studio and workshop in Bosham.

The team has grown from one to seven, with four members of our staff having been trained at Chichester College (we like to build on local connections where we can) and one trained at the prestigious Waters & Acland furniture school. Of course, there have been both highs and lows, as with any business – but what has been consistent is Ed’s desire to keep traditional working methods thriving with the highest standard of craftsmanship and the British furniture industry alive! Testament to this, four Bespoke Guild Marks have been won, alongside a prestigious Wood Award! Then there’s the pigeon and the chopping boards (you’ll have to see below if you want to find out more)!

Here are a few of the highlights from the past ten years we would like to share with you (click to enlarge or download):
