Hot from the studio this week

November 23, 2016

As the Autumn days are getting colder, the Edward Johnson team have been keeping warm in the workshop by scorching their legs!! Joking aside, one of our brand-new pieces of furniture to leave the studio is a beautiful Walnut extending dining table with Fibonacci spiral scorched legs – scorched to charcoal black! The combination of the warm Walnut table top and matt black, almost ‘velvety’ legs, both contrast and complement each other perfectly.

To decide on the final finish for the legs, different samples were made to show varying levels of scorching – from mid-brown to black. Our client made the excellent choice to go all out to achieve the maximum impact and depth – full scorch was required!

Below is a sneak peek of the table in progress in our workshop, final photographs will be added to our furniture gallery over the next couple of weeks, so please revisit us soon to take a closer look at this extraordinary piece of furniture.
