Murano Collection

The Murano Collection is one of Edward Johnson’s signature styles. This expanding collection includes limited-edition chests of drawers, blanket chests, sideboards, tables, jewellery boxes, watch boxes, humidors and mirrors. These pieces draw inspiration from the exquisite beauty and craftsmanship of Italian Murano glass. Edward has developed this technique to create unique veneers that are made from a wide range of stunning hardwoods. He describes this technique as: ‘manipulating the grain of wood as an artist would manipulate paint with a brush.’

The sweeping lines and swirling patterns that often envelops the whole piece creates an organic free-flowing appearance. Each piece is testament to meticulous craftsmanship and innovative design, creating furniture and accessories that are not only functional but visually captivating. This element combined with clean sharp edges provides an interesting juxtaposition. The layered and contrasting timbers make for a rich surface – sometimes blended from dark to light – or with contrasting highlights or dark inlays. Handcrafted by our skilled artisans they are made to the highest of standards with a fine finish that silky smooth to the touch.
